Last weekend my husband Örn and I took a short trip to Pujols to take care of some practicalities around the house. We used the opportunity to try out the local restaurants.

For lunch we had the three course “menu du jour” at Chez Sylvie in Pujols where we have eaten several times before and always had an enjoyable meal. Sitting outside in the shade sipping on a glass of rosé is not the worst you can do on a hot day in June.

For dinner we drove to Castillon-la-Bataille which is only 5 minutes away. There we enjoyed another three course meal at la Fontaine de Manon after a nice stroll along the Dordogne river. Duck was our theme for the evening and both the shared plate for starter and the duck breast for main course was absolutely delicious.

Mais oui, la vie est belle !
